Abstract

The redox properties of water, on the oxidized and reduced surfaces of CeO2(111) were discussed. The properties of ceria were strongly dependent on the surface structure. The diverse surfaces of crystalline nanoparticles of ceria supported oxidation and reduction reactions of the same molecules on the different parts of the particle.
