Abstract
The use of window-LFU (W-LFU) as an effective replacement policy for Web caches was discussed. A comparison was made between perfect-LFU (P-LFU) and W-LFU. P-LFU is an optimal replacement policy for Web caches that achieves high performance by exploiting Zipf's law. The results showed that W-LFU achieved high hit rates equivalent to P-LFU at a lower implementation cost.
