Abstract

Simulation results indicate that the MEB solar pond system is a viable system for desalination of sea water in an arid environment with performance ratio reaching more than twice the conventional system provided that optimum parameters of steam supply temperature, pond to heat transfer area ratio, number of effects, and number of regenerative feed heaters, are used.
