Abstract

Successive ultrafiltration fraction of technical lignosulfonates is carried out on membranes with gradually decreasing pore size (from 73 to 5 nm) in the absence of gel formation and with thorough diafiltration of the samples. Gel chromatography and potentiometry are used to determine the molecular weight composition of the resulting fractions and their ionogenic properties.
