Microstructure of precipitated Au nanociusters in MgO

    Abstract

    The preparation of gold nanoclusters dispersed in MgO by ion implantation at 975K and annealing at 1275K for 10 h was discussed. Transmission electron microscopy was used to study the morphological features, size, and crystallographic orientation of the Au nanoclusters with respect to MgO. The dependence of the density of quantum antidots on the size of the Au clusters was also presented.
