The kinetics of sewage sludge pyrolysis was investigated in a thermogravimetric analyzer (TG) coupled with a mass spectrometer (MS) enabling online analysing of gas products released during the process. The results showed that the release of the gas components was consistent with the TG profiles. To describe the characteristics of the process, a lumped kinetic model involving six nth order parallel reactions was proposed and model parameters were estimated from the experimental TG profiles.
