Impurity-impurity interaction mediated by coherent phonons

Abstract

We consider the interaction between one excited and several nonexcited impurities in the system AgBr:I. It is shown that the reflection of coherent phonons at nonexcited impurities may add to the transition probability of the excited impurity. Thus the intensity of phonon assisted transitions relative to the intensity of the zero phonon line will be enhanced.
