H.264 on optimization of high quality video transmission

Abstract

In order to apply the H.264 (a newest video coding standard proposed by the International telecommunications union telecommunication standardization sector video coding experts group and the International organization for standardization and international engineering consortium moving picture experts group) to real-time video transmissions. This paper improved the inter-predict method for the standard H.264. A motion complexity measure is defined to express the complexity of the motion contents in a video frame and be used in the standard H.264 for video coding. The algorithm improves the real-time performance video compression rate by 30.71% without reducing the video quality.
