Finite-size scaling for critical conditions for stable quadrupole-bound anions

Abstract

Finite-size scaling (FSS) calculations of the critical parameters for binding an electron to a finite quadrupole field were presented. A strong dependence on the basis set in performing FSS calculations was found. The oscillating behavior of the FSS calculations introduced noise in the asymptotic analysis. The FSS also permitted the calculation of critical exponents.
