Abstract

This paper presents an application of expert systems for the strategic justification of advanced manufacturing technology (AMT) projects. The developed system uses EXSYS expert system shell and evaluates the AMT projects based on several attributes such as suitability, system capability, performance and productivity. This paper also presents a review of the knowledge-based systems for justification of AMT projects.
