Atomic wave packet dynamics in a standing wave quantum field

Abstract

Atomic wave packet dynamics in a standing wave quantum field was studied. The analysis was performed using a cavity-quantum electrodynamics (cavity-QED) based on the momentum-quantized quantum theory. It was observed that for reasonably slow atoms, the detection efficiency was not sensitive to the individual atomic trajectory.
